The Town of Mt. Gilead Public Works department is responsible for the maintenance of water and sewer lines, the operation of Mount Gilead’s waste water treatment plant, trash removal, the maintenance of Town facilities, and many other tasks. Our hard working department plays a vital role in ensuring that the town’s infrastructure and facilities are properly maintained and functional. They are responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the daily life of the community.

One of the most important responsibilities of the Public Works department is the maintenance of the town’s water and sewer lines. This includes regular inspections, repairs, and upgrades to ensure that the system is functioning properly and providing safe and clean water to residents. In addition to water and sewer maintenance, the Public Works department is also responsible for trash removal throughout the town. This includes regular pick-ups of residential and commercial waste, as well as special services for bulk items and yard waste.

The department also maintains a variety of town facilities, including parks, playgrounds, and public buildings. This includes regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to ensure that these facilities are safe and functional for all residents to enjoy.

Our wastewater treatment facility is responsible for treating and processing the town’s wastewater, ensuring that it is safe to be returned to the environment.
